The made-to-measure process

Your first visit: Coffee date

Come prepared with your design ideas and inspiration for a quick coffee so that we can get to know each other and brainstorm about your beautiful gown. The initial visit is free of charge.

If you would like to continue with the design process there will be a consultation fee of £30 before your second visit. This will deducted from your quote if the dress is commissioned.

I will then spend some time designing and sketching out ideas based on our first visit.

Your second visit: Finalise the design

I will show you my designs and we'll brainstorm until you've decided on a final design. I'll also take your measurements to start making the pattern.

After your second visit I'll send you a quote, of which 50% is payable as a deposit.

Your third visit: Mock fitting

& Fabric sourcing

At your third visit I will fit the mock (a plain cotton sample of your dress). We will also choose beautiful fabric and trims for your dress.

Your fittings

I will contact you once the dress is ready to be fitted. I usually ask that you come for two to four fittings, depending on the design and on your individual needs. It is essential at all fittings to have the exact shoes and underwear you'll be wearing on your wedding day.

I aim to have your final fitting only two weeks before the wedding. This is to ensure a perfect fit on your wedding.

The remainder of the payment is due upon collection.

FAQ's

How long before my wedding should I come for a consultation?

The process usually takes 6 - 12 months, although a shorter timescale can often be accommodated.

What should I budget for a bespoke dress?

It truly depends on your individual needs.

My prices start around £1400 for a very simple design. For a full lace gown or intricate design the starting prince is usually £1800.

Prices vary due to fabric choice, design details, the intricacy of the pattern and even the trimmings. As a general rule you would need to budget more for a bespoke service than a shop-bought dress.

Can you copy a dress for me which I              saw elsewhere?

I don't do copies of another designer's work. However, I would love to see your ideas and we can use that design as our main inspiration.
